Garmin GTN-650

As was stated in the recent newsletter our Cessna 172  is currently receiving a new Garmin 650 system  and should be back next week.  In order to fly the aircraft you will have to do the following;

- view the following link for general information on this system.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voOoW_ofQFI&feature=related

- Review the user manual and complete the test.  Everyone that is qual'd in the Arrow or working on their qual must do this training.

- review the test with a CFI and ensure it is logged in your training folder.

- No one will be allowed to use this system under IFR conditions unless they have been trained/qual'd with a CFII.  The Chief Pilot will be directing this training at a later date.

- Until we have procured a ground power option, do not operate the system on aircraft power longer than necessary to do your ground checks, once aircraft has been started you may load your flight route data and any additional inputs as necessary.  THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED, the aircraft has a new battery so don't be the one who ignores this policy!

- We paid over 14k for this system, so please take care of it and treat it like it's yours.  It is a touchscreen so we will find out what type of cloth can be used to clean the screen and make that available.

Hope you enjoy flying with it!
